Simply Good Kitchen

OVERVIEW

Simply Good Kitchen was founded in 2002 as a cooking school. In 2007, they opened their bistro-style food market which offers fresh-made prepared food with a weekly rotating menu. As business boomed, they both retired from teaching cooking classes and grew the business into what it has become today.

CHALLENGE

As the business grew Simply Good Kitchen decided to create a website with order-taking capabilities. They would create their menu weekly and have to manually update the website alone with 2 other menu types including their take-home menu and internal ordering menu. They did not accept payment online and had to either call the individuals paying or the patron would simply skip the website ordering and call and place phone orders causing a lot of manual processes and errors.

SOLUTION

EGO Creative built a fully operational eCommerce system with automated menu creation. Along with the addition of digital gift cards and marketing tools their online sales grew to exponential numbers. Still, there were some processes where errors were occurring. We consulted Simply Good Kitchen through these and added SKU numbering, which greatly reduced errors in their packing department. Their phone orders have diminished to roughly 12-15 per week as all of these customers have migrated to the new online ordering system. With their menu automation, credit card processing, and online ordering system they saw a 66 man-hour reduction in payroll per week along with a vast reduction in consumables.
